McKenna Kroeger
McKenna, crafting her knit sketch of Port Hope landmarks
McKenna Kroeger is a Port Hope-based fibre artist that works with reclaimed materials to make garments and tapestries inspired by local landscapes, buildings and pop culture. As a publishing student interested in works of nonfiction, art and culture, McKenna enjoys integrating her interests into her textiles, using expressive texture and colour.
During her residency, McKenna will be working towards a large Port Hope landscape knitted tapestry, as well as some miniatures. She has also created some large cross-stitch designs that the community is invited to complete throughout the summer.
Drop in to see how her residency project is progressing during Open Studio Hours at the Little Station on Thursday evenings this July and August between 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. She will also host a Miniature Knitting Workshop on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Artist Talk and Exhibit/Reception will be held at the Little Station on Thursday, August 29 at 6:00 p.m.
