Smile & Sketch: A Live Drawing Photo Booth, featuring artist Morgan McConville
The Smile and Sketch: Live-Drawing Photobooth Pop-Up is an interactive, community-centered art experience launching for the first time this summer in downtown Port Hope. Our local artist Morgan McConville captures quick, playful, and cartoony portraits of participants, creating charming keepsakes that celebrate the unique faces and spirit of the community.
This initiative invites residents and visitors alike to engage directly with the creative process and the vibrant culture of Port Hope’s historic core. By combining spontaneity, creativity, and local talent, the photobooth fosters connection and joy through accessible, live art.
The project is proudly sponsored by Dr. Anna Tucka, a local dentist and dedicated supporter of arts and community initiatives.
The Live-Drawing Photobooth will pop up on Saturdays throughout July and August from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lent Lane, in downtown Port Hope.
Join us for this fresh, playful celebration of art and community, where your portrait becomes a unique piece of Port Hope’s creative story.

Mid-Week Pick Me Ups!
A Free Coffee Morning Series in July & August
Mid-Week Pick Me Ups return for a second summer, bringing together the downtown Port Hope community for a lively and welcoming morning coffee break. Each Wednesday throughout July and August, Critical Mass partners with a different local café to offer free coffee and treats to merchants, residents, and visitors at Lent Lane.
This initiative fosters connection, conversation, and community spirit in the heart of Port Hope’s historic downtown. By spotlighting local coffee shops and bringing people together over a shared love of great coffee, Mid-Week Pick Me Ups serves as a weekly celebration of local business and neighborhood camaraderie.
Each week’s coffee break is generously sponsored by members of the community, helping to keep this warm and energizing tradition alive.
Join us every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for a fresh start to your day with good company, delicious coffee, and sweet treats!
LOVE NOTES FOR DOWNTOWN PORT HOPE – Community Ribbon Installation
Residents and visitors to Port Hope are invited to scribe a love note on colourful ribbon and attach it to our construction fence panel again this summer!
Walton Street Reconstruction is nearing completion, yet we are still calling on our community to share what they love most about Port Hope to help beautify downtown Port Hope and lift spirits during the last construction phase.
Construction fence panel has been graciously sponsored by WSP.
